Born from the visionary endeavors of a passionate group of young development activists, IRV operates as a women-led, rights-based organization with a resolute commitment to Gender Justice, Inclusion, and amplifying the voices of those affected by prevalent issues. The organization’s core mission is deeply rooted in addressing the challenges faced by poor, marginalized, and hard-to-reach communities, with a particular focus on Indigenous and Dalit women, youth, and children. At the heart of IRV’s philosophy is the belief that a just society is forged through robust community participation. Striving to emancipate society from inequality and poverty, IRV ensures equitable access to natural resources and encourages the active involvement of all, regardless of caste, creed, or ethnicity.

In operationalizing its vision, IRV engages in a diverse array of focus areas, strategically categorized into broader themes. These encompass Social Inclusion and Empowerment, addressing indigenous minorities and marginalized communities, Gender-related issues, and Rights. IRV is equally committed to Environmental Sustainability, actively participating in Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Management, Agriculture, Ecology, Livelihood Security, Environment, and Climate Justice. The organization places a strong emphasis on Information Management and Knowledge Development, including initiatives such as Research, Action Research, and Monitoring. Advocacy and Governance stand as pillars of its work, encapsulating efforts in Advocacy, Good Governance, and collaboration with Civil Society Organizations. Furthermore, IRV is a driving force in Humanitarian Response and Community Support, engaging in Youth empowerment, Training, Agro-entrepreneurship, and Community Mobilization. The organization aligns its endeavors with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring a holistic approach toward achieving a sustainable and just future. Through these varied initiatives, IRV envisions a tapestry of positive change, resilience, and sustainability woven into the communities it passionately serves.
